Description | A fragment of bone, likely costal cartilage of a large mammal, with two natural faces and two break edges--one laterally through the fragment and the other transversely at a diagonal angle. On one finished face there is a depression which might be evidence of working the object. Originally thought to be antler in 2023, but revised identification by zooarchaeologist S. Kansa in 2024. |
