Description For a description of the rosette, see 19660225; for other examples of lateral sima see 19660030 and 19660054, compare also with 19660175. This piece preserves the upper right hand corner and top edge of the cavetto for most of its length. The rosette is complete and in good condition; it appears to have been molded seperatly and later fixed to the sima- some clay has been added at its base to reinforce the join and produces a slight flare all around the base of the rosette. The rosette itself differs only slightly from 19660225: the dot in the center is a lump without a flat surface. Between the rosette and the right side of the sima some other piece appears to have been attached and broken off; this attachment cuts into the bottom of the cavetto at the right side of the plaque as though the fixture (a panther head?) had been centered on the join between this plaque and the next one. In the lower left corner there is a horizontal projection towards the back which has been broken off.
