Description | This fragment preserves the lower left corner of a plaque of the lateral sima. As in 19660054, the edge and base have been carried back so that the sima can be seccurely held in place. A rosette approximately 0.095 m in diameter remains attached to the front of the sima; ridges radiating from a central dot, approximately 0.017 m in diameter, define the eight petals. The rosette is firmly attached to the sima; its sides meet the front of the sima at a right angle. Above the rosette is a short, curved groove; this may be part of the ear of the feline or canine water spout or it may be part of a strigil. Near the preserved corner is a shallow circular depression approximately 0.029 m in diameter. |
