Description Human head with high modeling and no inner detail. The forehead slopes backward from the browline and then begins to curve slightly forward. The strong browline springs directly from the flat bridge of the nose. The eyes are deppset. Its right eye is closer to the nose (0.007 m) and the brow (0.023 m) than its left eye (0.013 m and 0.025 m respectively). The right eye slants upward while the left is horizontal. Consequently the face does not seem to be full front. The protruding mouth appears to be formed by pulling the clay up into a ridge and then depressing the center to make two lips. The mouth curves down at the edges which were rounded by fingers. Above and below the center of the mouth is a depression. There is no real chin. The long wide flat beard springs from the same plane as the low-modeled cheeks. The back is rough and shows that the head was not made of solid clay. Finger marks. Addition: part of right side of chest. From Tesoro Trench 1 NRT. Measurements: Max. Pres. Height 0.150 m, Max. Pres. Width 0.158 m, Max. Pres. Thickness 0.025 m, at Join for Beard 0.013 m, Fragment of chest attached to lower part of right edge of beard. Fragment curves inwards towards side to form right upper arm and shoulder.
