Description | Preserved are the molded head, chest and part of the wings of a sphinx-like animal. The triangular, small-eared, feline head is seen frontally; incised lines mark the slanting oval eyes, the semicircular eyebrows which meet over the nose, the nostrils, a horizontal wrinkle on the forehead, and the ears. The body and wings are seen in profile: the chest is smooth and rounded; the wings sweep up and back at an acute angle to the head and are decorated with snaking lines. |
