Description | The deep cavetto is decorated with a molded strigil pattern. The grooves setting off each strigil are spaced every 0.003 m. The back of the crown follows the curve of the cavetto. Below the cavetto, on the right is a feline water spout almost completely in the round. Only the major features are articulated with little attention to detail. The ear, in high relief, is triangular shaped with a depression in the center. The forehead is broad and is divided in the center by a shallow groove. The slanting, almond shaped eyes are deepset. The nose has a flat bridge and nostrils. The large mouth is open with two fangs at either end of the top jaw. The outside teeth are larger. The top jaw rises in the center under the nose. The mouth then curves back and down to form the flat lower jaw. To the left is the scar of part of a rosette. The back is smooth and open where the spout is. |
