Description | Painted with alternating red and white stripes of varying widths (somewhat difficult to see because of incrusted mud): there are apparently four white stripes, 0.020 m (on the thinner end of the fragment), 0.015 m, 0.008 m, and 0.018 m (on the thicker end) wide; and three red stripes, 0.012 m, 0.009 m, and 0.005 m wide. [Note: After conservation in 2011 it was noted that the slip is actually alternating stripes of red and black, the white being encrustation that adhered more to the black. -trh 14/7/2011] |
