Title Aryballos, Fragment from Shoulder
Primary photo False
Photo Type Cataloged Artifact
Photo ID 20297
Album ID 0
Description The fragment is from the shoulder of a large, broadshouldered aryballos. The body is painted reddish brown while rudimentary tongues, reserved against the light clay, decorate the shoulder. The paint was applied hastily and, therefore, is thin and cracking. Even though the piece is extremely poor in quality, it is probably a poor example of Middle Late Corinthian, around 575 B.C.
