Primary photo False
Photo Type Cataloged Artifact

Description This is the feline waterspout of a lateral sima such as 19660054 and 19660175. From the front the rectangular hole of the mouth dominates more than half the face. Above the mouth is the triangular nose with two oval depressions for nostrils at its base. On the slanting planes between the broad, flat bridge of the nose and the sides of the upper jaw are round eyes: a bulging center set off by a wide, shallow groove. From the side, the secondary, triangular mouth holes behind the fangs which connect upper and lower jaws at the corner of the mouth may be seen. Behind the eyes is a short forehead, then a broken strip curves over the head from behind one corner of the mouth to behind the other. Behind this is a right-angle jog inwards (except behind the lower jaw which, though broken, seems to have gone straight back and become part of the attachment ring), then the attachment ring projecs;its full depth is preserved only in one corner.
