Description | Fragment preserving bottom sectionof hair and part of adjoining back of statue. Hair is rendered as a roughly rectangular panel placed on top of the back, here preserved in a small, inward curving section with an almost flat surface. The three preserved edges (sides and bottom) are straight and intersect at approximate right angles, as viewed against the back, the hair panel is raised approximately 0.022 m from the surface of the back. At its upper extent, the hair area is slightly thicker in the center. The sides of the hair panel are partly broken off, but the portions preserved are flat and roughly rectangular. The right side has a small ridge of clay at the broken edge. The interior surface is much darker and harder than the exterior, and is smooth and flattened into three planes, with a small round depression with pointed end in the present center of the piece, at the point of intersection of two of these planes. |
