Description Fragment of a bucchero double handle, consisting of a vertical interior section and a curved exterior section. They are joined at the top and surmounted by a finial knob, consisting of a bulbous sphere surmounted by a smaller half-sphere. The interior section is in the form of a vertical plaque, which tapers in the middle. It is decorated with a large voluted palmette, placed above the remnants of a second. The exterior section preserves a human head in high relief. Two large almond-shaped eyes, carefully incised, with pupils indicated in high relief; a wide, flat nose; short, thick lips; and a heavy rounded chin make up the facial features. The face is bordered on both sides by curving wings, which extend to eye level.
