Began the morning by trimming the baulk walls in preperation for photographs to be taken. A photo of the east wall was taken. Photos of the other cardinal points will be taken tomorrow. A cut was made in meters 50S 166E and 51S 166E. Once the cut was completed we began to level the area of locus 8. Based on last season stratigraphy (see p 209-211) a locus change shouls occur around 145 cm bd. Once the area of locus 8 is lelvelled it should be easier to distinguish a locus change.

After lunch we made a cut along the entire lenght of locus 8. Meters 50S 166E and 51S 166E still looks a bit higher in some places than meters 50S 165E and 51S 165E.
Before we begin next time the floor must be levelled. At theat point the new locus will be visible.
