Trench Layout:

T 59 is a 2x4 meter trench located in the southwestern corner of the Piano del Tesoro. The eastern boundary of the trench was shot using a transit and is part of a baseline for the 2014 excavation area, running along the longitudinal line XXE on the master grid. The northern boundary of the trench was triangulated and is also the southern boundary of T 58, while the southern boundary of the trench was also triangulated and is the northern boundary of T 60. The coordinates of the trench are as follows:

\xb7 NE corner: 95E/39S

\xb7 SE corner: 95E/43S

\xb7 SW corner: 93E/43S

A datum point with an absolute elevation of 29.28m meters on the master grid has been established and will be used by T 59, as well as T 60. It is situated on a tree to the south of the trench.

T 59 is adjacent to trenches T 58 to the north and T 60 to the south. The entire excavation area is located to the north

of a dirt road that transects the site of Poggio Civitate.
