A.M.

Took a cut in meters A-B/3-4 bringing the area to roughly 65-70 cm.  The soil was medium brown with some carbon, and galestra began to appear in B/4 at the bottom of the cut.  A large number of small stones were encountered in A/3-4.  The stones in A/4 and B/3 were defined.  Some of the stones in A/4 were lifted and another large stone was found beneath them.  2 full latte boxes of pottery and bone were recovered along with 15-20 fragments of terracotta and plaster.

Continued work in meters A-B/3-4 defining around the stones in the corner of the A/4 and in B/3.  The stones in B/3 seem to be largely bedrock.  This work produced one-half of the latte box of pottery and bone.

Began picking through meters A-C/1-2, lowering the area to ~80 cm.  The majority of meters C/1-2 was galestra, and it was encountered in the northern porions of B/1-2 and A/1-2 as well.  Medium brown soil was encountered over most of the area above the galestra and a portion of it still remains in B/1-2.  A mottled yellow-black/brown soil was encountered in B/1-2 as well.  On the far east edge of C/2 a fragment of thick terracotta was encountered.  It seems to be surrounded by galestra, but this is difficult to determine as the soil to the east of it is still at a higher level.  This work produced one and one-sixth latte boxes of pottery and bone.  Several fragments of coil made vessels were also found in this area.
