Daily Log

June 10, 1989

A second cut to 20 cm was made in the north-west corner of the trench.  Depth reading comes from northern baulk, which is slightly higher than the southern due to the slope of the hill.  This, of course, is relative to the level of trench floor.

Soil in this cut is full of small stones and roots.  One stump was taken out in F/98.  Tile was found, 3/4 of a cassetta by 10:30am, when work stopped.  1/4 of a coassetta of plaster was found.  Only a few fragments of a thick impasto rim fragment was found.
