The rain yesterday left the trench slightly too wet to excavate. The saturation of the ground also caused standing water to form between T-68, T-67, and the dirt dump. As a result the two trenches combined efforts to bail the area. Afterwards work was focused on removing erosional wash along the base of the northern and eastern walls. Dirt was removed using handpicks and hand sorted. More detailed work was down with trowels. No sifting was done and all finds were collected into the buckets to be sorted later by the trench masters. Approximately a bowl of terracotta tile, pithos fragments, ceramics, and plaster was collected

After lunch work began with a pick pass of the trench as exposure to sunlight. Dirt was sorted by hand into buckets. As we have now gone below topsoil, every 4 ^th bucket will be sifted. During this process a tooth was uncovered (Special find #1).

A second pickpass was thrown across the trench. Dirt was sorted by hand and into buckets. A third pickpass was thrown across the entire trench. Work stayed 1 hour late to finish the clearing of the pass.
