Today, 3 workmen began clearing the topsoil in E-D.  We proceeded to clear topsoil into C 4-8 down to a level of 1.5 m at the east side of wall 2.  Stakes were set up for grid F-C, 8-4.

Also found two fragments of ridgepole tile.  (?)  D-6 and C-7.

This stratum contains many large rocks which appear to have fallen down from wall 2 which is leaning to the east.
