A cut piece of (deer?) horn, broken in excavation, was found at a depth of 0.38 m, in the northwest corner of the trench.
(Tesoro, Trench 2-D)
No finds were made in any part of the trench below .40m. In the western end of the trench, at a depth oc .50m.(approx.), rough stones and clay appeared. The stones arde unevenly arranged and do not suggest a pavement, or any other man made arrangement but could be a collapsed wall. The stones extend out from the west end of the trench about 3.0 meters along the north edge and about 2.5 meters where the join the natural stone in trench 2-C.
In the eastern half of the trench, clay and a few stones appeared at a depth of .50m.
The trench was cleaned and polished.
Tesoro Trench 2-E (plan p. 65)
A new cut was laid out along the entire western edge of the combined trenches, 8.50m. long and 2.0m. wide.
In the surface, many pieces of tile were found, including two pieces of frieze and two of cornice, all badly worn. No pottery or bone was found to .10m.
