6-20-2000, Tuesday

Morning

Photos were taken of the trench then continued excavating meters 5N 28-29W.

Afternoon

Meter 5N 28-29W was levelled off at the same depth as locus 3. The soil is similar and will most likely be equated to locus 3. Then meter 6N 28-29W were pick-axed and scraped down an approx. 10cm. cut. Then it was decided that since the rock concentration of locus 4 appeared to have no internal relevance nor relevance to other loci, it was excavated, beginning with a 10cm. cut as well. Approx. 35 pieces of terracotta were found, a full latte box of pottery, and a special find in meter 6N 29W at 6.8N 29.4W and at a depth of 44 cm.b.d. The special find may be a pottery handle attachment point, due to the number of pottery handle pieces found nearby, or an acroterian piece, due to the cutting along the rise of the ridge.
