T-26 1981 Stratigraphy
One of the more interesting aspects of T-26 1981 was its stratigraphy. During excavation of this trench, there did not appear to be a consistent stratigraphy from one area to another. However, one feature is borne out clearly and this feature is best described by the stratigraphy of the NW face of the trench.
This stratigraphy implies that a pit or a fossa was dug in antiquity, and this "pit" reaches its deepest point in meter E/77 and would slope from the SE face of the trench down towards the NW face and from the NE face down to the SW face. The contour drawing below helps to illustrate this proposed pit.

Other than this peculiar feature of the trench, the strata of T-26 1981 are similar to those encountered in the T-23 trenches of 1978-1980 (see
, , , , and ). The stratigraphy was most distinct along the NW and SW faces of the trench, while that along the SE and NE faces was more vague. See for drawings of these faces.
