June 5, 1978

During the time between the end of the 1977 season and the beginning of the 1978 season, the foundation stones within T-19 of the N-S wall dividing the middle and east rooms (K-O/37, see GW IV p. 4 for plan ) and the N-S wall marking the E flank of this 3-roomed building (J-O/43, see p. 227 for plan ) has been demolished by vandals or illicit excavators ( see p. 224-225 for drawing of damage . ).

Part of this clean-up ooperation on June 1 uncovered various pottery fragments in K/37 ( see p. 223 ).

Today, the area beneath the east wall was excavated.  Grid O-N-M/43 (north flank of doorway) was completely removed, while portions of grid K/43 were also uncovered.
