AM
Work began across the entire surface of the trench using hand picks. Several large roots were taken out but the stump in the central part of the eastern half of the trench remains. A number of medium-sized rocks are visible in the middle of the trench forming a rough line running East-West. The trench was leveled and the baulk wall straightened using handpicks in order to more clearly reveal the possible rock formation.
PM
Excavation continued across the entire trench, primarily using trowels.
The aim is to level the surface of the trench while preserving any rocks exposed.
