We continue to remove the tile, plaster, rocks, pithos fragments and pottery from the tile concentration in m-N 91-92, and we dig to floor level in m-P. 91 to the north of the great stump as we deepen the trench in N-P 92 reaching a depth of 30cm. In m-N 92 we remove a great deal of tile often in large pieces and of plaster-including not only large pieces with reed impressions, the most important being no.4, but also a few very large, amorphous pieces. The area also yields the large "brick," no. 2 (cf no.5, from low in the stump in N 90). The soil over the floor is a dark burn soil, and in O 90 we find a seemingly very well-preserved column base. The floor rises northward and under the stump in N 90 it rises abruptly in a low, ragged step. In O 92 we note a particular concentration of pithos wall fragments.
In R 92 we complete the "floor level" cut, to 15cm, and dig a bit into 93 to expose the remainder of the column bases. Here we find a good deal of pottery; today's total 3 latte boxes.
We complete our examination of the season's pithos fragments, finding no significant joins, and dump 8 cassette of body fragments and 1 of base fragments.
