Daily Log

Friday, July 27

Continued down in Locus 2.  This locus seems relatively sterile at this point, with only some worn terracotta.  The whole trench was brought down to the same depth, and Locus 2 was closed due to arriving at a stratum break clearly visible in the baulk wall of T26S.  Locus 3 is a more compact, lighter soil.  Some tile with sharp edges are appearing, though most are still very worn.

Locus 2

  • Terracotta: 1 7/8 latte boxes
  • Pottery: 3 pieces
  • Plaster: 25 pieces

Locus 3

  • Terracotta: 2 latte boxes
  • Pottery: 5 pieces
  • Plaster: 6 pieces

Locus 2 was closed 100-113cm B.D.
