Bronze fibula
August 6, 1970
A test cut was made in R6 G-J 3-4 (see plan p. 178) There appeared first a layer of greyish clay and under this a rather thick layer of brown soil. In these two layers was found in all about one box of pottery fragments, of which a few pieces of bucchero. In the grey clay was found a handle with two suspension holes. Lower down finds were getting scarce and finally ceased all together. After digging through about one dim of completely findless soil of brown or greyish-yellow color "gallestra" was reached. In one corner bedrock appeared at quite an early stage.
