Excavation began to flatten and define exposed rocks in the trench ( Locus 3 ). A few (less than 10) pieces of tile, pottery, and bone have been recovered.

Following this work began in Locus 4 the extension established last week. Soil is a very dark brown with many big and small rocks and roots. Some worn tile and pottery wax recovered.

Work continued picking through the topsoil.

The soil is becoming lighter in colour and texture. There is an abundance of rocks and roots. A small stump on the western boundary was removed. A stump on the north boundary of the extension was also eradicated from the trench.
