Work continued defining tne area L-G/86-92 for photography, a stratigraphical section of the northern balk wall G/86-92 and eventual lifting of the tile fall. Most specifically, the area I-J/86-88 was concentrated upon. Here appeared the aforementioned rock packing surrounded by a heavy burn. This burn when excavated downwards exposed bone and pottery. Often this material was burned or showed evidence of of heat ie. blackened or blue-grey bone, but at other times the material was not burned.

Much of the unburned material appeared to come from the higher part of the stratum which often blended with the tile and plaster or grey brown soil directly above it.

Three pottery boxes (latte containers) were removed and consisted of about 60% ceramic, 40% bone. Including other work in the area clearing down the tile concentration of soil and plaster two cassette of 50% tile, 50% plaster were removed. Some burned material was enocuntered when tile or plaster come in contact

with the black burn stratum. As before a tile could be lying directly on top of the burn stratum and be blackened where cotnact was made but show no sign of discoloration on the top part in the tile and plaster stratum.

Additionally some work was done over PQ/92-93 in search of the third line of clumn cases in the easternmost line of three. Although rock was discovered about 10-15 cm below surfact level in heavy brown soil it was unclear as to the exact nature of the rock. More work is necessary to determine whether or not it belongs to a southern base at all. very few fragments of worn terracotta and one piece of ceramic were found here.
