21 July

(Tesoro, trench 2-F)

Work continued this day, but slowly because of wet conditions. In the south section of the trench, yellow clay was found at a depth of .40m. Some fragments of pottery were found, just above the yellow clay; these included half of a rochette and the base of a vase.

The trench was not excavated north of the low, east west wall mentioned above.

At the south end, stones extending the width of the trench appeard of a depth of .15 to .20 metres, forming a wall

on platform about 1.40m wide (maximum) from the south edge of the trench (see plan, p.65).

Work was stopped at noon because of more rain, not to be resumed until Monday, 25 July.
