Work continued starting at the Eastern and Western edges of the trench, using hand picks. The soil has dried somewhat but continues to be grayish brown in color and claylike in texture except for the soil under the depression in the Western section which is blackish brown in color. There continues to be a mixture of medium sized rocks as well as roots mixed in with the soil across the trench.

Eventually the blackish brown soil disappeared and the soil is now uniformly grayish brown in color and claylike in texture.

Beneath the blackish brown soil were a few medium sized rocks. It is possible that it was the remains of a relatively recent fire pit.

A pick pass was made using a big pick, starting at the Western end of the trench all the way to the Eastern edge of the trench.
