Friday: June 10
Work began in Rec. 12 at 7:00 A.M. in the are of cuts #2, 3, 4. from the 50cm level to the 70cm level, moving toward the northern wall. The earth in this 20cm level has for the past few days produced little of interest. Very little roof tile is being incovered. We hope to complete excavation to the 70cm level either today of tomorrow.
Digging at depth of 60cm Cesare encountered a well defined layer of carbon 5-10cm thick in the area of A-4.
