XIII. Conclusion
XIII. CONCLUSION
The excavation of T-83 has given mixed results. The indications of heavy erosion in this trench (small well-worn fragments of terracotta, dark color and loose consistency of soil) and the formations of the bedrock suggest that the remains of any man-made features in this area would be scant. No features were found. What was originally thought might be a pathway composed of small stones (bottom of locus 10 ) turned out to be erosional wash. Also, only loci 6 , 15 and 16 can be firmly attributed to levels contemporaneous with the ancient phases of the site. What was most surprising was the relative lack of material remains, even in loci 6 , 15 and 16 . This suggests that little activity took place in this area which would have left
archaeological traces. Further excavation in the surrounding areas would help to clarify the situation.
