Daily Log

June 22, 2004

A.M.

Completed one pick pass through trench, sorted approximately half of it.  Began cutting back and straightening heavily eroded wall of T26.  Finding a few sherds of pottery and terracotta in T26 wall.  Based on stratigraphy being uncovered in T26, seems likely will reach a new locus soon.

P.M.

Continued sifting.  Reached locus 2 in NW corner, at 109.9 cm bd, characterized by clay-like, grayish soil.  Collected one bowl of terracotta and four pieces of orangeware and one grayware rim.  From baulk wall of T26, removed a handful of terracotta, two sherds of coarseware, three of orangeware, and one buccheroid fragment.

NW corner: 111.1. cm bd

NE corner: 113 cm bd

SW corner: 116.2 cm bd

SE corner: 109 cm bd

Note: tape measure partially broken, measurements may be unreliable!
