8 July 2024 AM Debackfill was completed and the area of T26 2023 and T103 were cleaned and prepared for photos. Baulk walls were improved using handpicks and trowels. The trench was laid out as a 4 x 4 m trench with a large tree partially within the trench. Opening photos and opening elevations were taken.

Excavation began in T26 with a pickpass in the eastern extent of the trench. A large root runs along the eastern extent of Locus 1. Two rocks are exposed along the northern extent and may extend to the northernmost extent of Locus 1. The soil is a medium brown soil and clay mixture with significant inclusions of plaster, frequent inclusions of tile, plaster with reed impressions, and vitrified terracotta are being recovered throughout the layer. While sorting a fragment of possible burnt bone with adhered plaster was recovered and recorded as Special Find# 1. Additionally, a fragment of pottery with two grooves was found and recorded as Special Find# 2.

The soil was sorted by hand into buckets. Vitrified plaster, vitrified terracotta, roofing tile, and plaster with reed impressions are visible on the surface. The trench was swept and loose soil cleaned. Closing elevations were taken.
