PALIO-DAY

The was cleaned and swept.  1 box of pottery was gathered in all from T8.

Trees were ut in order to clear the ground for future trenches.

Remains of the dump from Tesoro 1 were taken away in the area adjoining to the E of T8

A testcut was made in T5E where tile fragments were sticking up from the ground.  The purpose was to investigate if there was more material (horse race frieze) outside the two pits in T5E which were excavated in 1968 ( TG, book 3, p. 8 ).  The cut measures 2.50 N-S, 3.70 E-W and is placed 6.60-7m.  N of the building in T5E and 4m. E of the wall in T1AD and T5A 6 boxes of tiles were dumped from this area and 2 pieces of frieze were found.

As a matter of simplicity the testcut is called T5E, although it extends into T5B.
