A.M.

50-52/V-X was cleaned down further to reach floor level.  52/V produced several pieces of pan and cover tile.  These were cleaned and photographed.  Below one large fragment, some dirt and a large coarseware base were found.  Relative to other grids, 52/V produced great amounts of tile.  50-51/W was cleaned to the rock line, which was left in place.  Some tile and pottery were found in these meters.

52/W produced a very large fragment of a pan tile.  Roughly 40-45% of the whole tile is preserved.  With the tiles found in 52/V, there are some impressive pieces being found today.  The large tile will be left in situ.

One cassetta of plaster was dumped atnoon.

P.M.

49/X was cleaned to [no information given] cm below surface.  At the western baulk, plaster was encountered in a light sandy soil.  This plaster is visible in the western baulk at this level all the way to 49/V.

49-50/V is all that remains at roughly 75 cm.  All other meters in 49-56/V-X are down to the southeast building floor level.  The rock line remains in 51/V-W.  The large pan tile found in 52/W also remains in situ.  Pottery filled a small cassetta over the course of the day.  Coarseware and orangeware are the predominant types.  Much pottery shows evidence of burning.
