The majority of the pottery recovered from T28 in the 2002 season was worn until loci 18 and 19 were reached. With the exception of loci 18 and 19 pottery was generally recovered only in small concentrations and consisted of small, very worn coarseware sherds.

Loci 18 and 19 are two loci located to the north of the rock feature associated with locus8 . Both are light to medium brown soil with white particulates and varying amounts of carbon. The coarseware concentration in these loci also correlated with a large bone concentration. This evidence taken

together with the high amount of carbon found within these loci may indicate that this area was used in food preparation. The material evidence also is very similar to that one would expect to find in a destruction layer.

Within locus 18 , a full impasto profile was recovered. This vessel may be coil-made which would indicate that it would date back to the Orientalizing period or pre-Orientalizing period. It is also interesting to note that the ceramic found in loci 18 and 19 were more intact and this corresponds well with the Villonovan material recovered from T27.

Other ceramic finds from T28 2002 include 2 spindle whorls, a Rocchetto fragment, and several medieval sherds of pottery which were found in topsoil cuts.
