We continued trimming the southern baulk wall, along 40S, in preparation for drawing a stratigraphic section of this wall. The section drawing will only go so far east as the circular cutting ( Loci 3 , 5 - 9 ). The circular cut therefore will not be included in the section drawing, but the section will show the galestra cutting.

We used handpicks and trowels to excavate and sorted soil in the trench. Some pottery and bone, along with a few tile fragments, were recovered. Additionally, we recovered teeth (Find #1), the jaw of which is still in situ, and a bone bead (Find #2).

We continued trimming the baulk wall in the south. We used handpicks and trowels to excavate and sorted soil by hand in the trench. We found some pottery and bone along the entire length of the wall but there were higher concentrations of both in the east, inside the cut into the galestra. Additionally, we found a jaw bone in the baulk from the cut (Find #3).

After the baulk trim was completed, we placed nails along the intersections of strata. We then strung string along the nails to clarify the identities of the different stratigraphical layers in preparation for the section drawing.
