Trench Layout
T90 is a 7x10 meter trench located in the southwestern area of the Piano del Tesoro. It encompasses portions of six earlier trenches, T66, T75, T76, T78, T81, and T88. The trench was triangulated off a longitudinal baseline along gridline 110E. The coordinates of the trench are as follows:
- NW corner: 103E/38S
- NE corner: 110E/38S
- SE corner: 110E/48S
- SW corner: 103E/48S
Even though the trench's boundaries extend northward to 38S, the northernmost two meters of the trench were not de-backfilled, as we do not plan to work in that northern area. Additionally, a trench line will be strung along the latitudinal line of 40S, which will be used for measurements.
A datum point with an absolute elevation of 27.75 meters on the master grid has been established on a tree to the west of the trench.
