The day started with a pick pass in locus. The soil in the Western side of locus 6 is becoming flaky. In the Northern and Southern areas of locus 6 the soil is carbon filled. On the Eastern side of locus 6 is really yellow, which is like pre-bedrock soil. While sorting a piece of bumpy bucchero and slag were found along with pottery, tile and bone (SF #1 and SF #2).

After sorting and dumping the first pick pass conducted a second one in locus 6. While sorting had four special finds of a bronze sheet with a nail through it, vitrified terracotta, iron, and ridged pottery (SF# 3-6). Among the special finds pottery, tile, and bone, especially teeth, were found.

Executed a light pick pass in the Eastern most area of locus 6 in attempt to flatten the trench. Continued to find pottery, tile and bones along with two special finds of slag and worked bone ( SF #7 and SF #8), Finished sorting the dirt by hand and dumped.

Currently working in locus 6 on defining rocks along the western side and scraping the locus flat with the rest of the loci. During scraping found burnt tooth and cut bone ( SF #9 and SF #10).

Using triangulation opened a meter extension North of the Northern baulk wall. Took opening photographs and elevations for locus 11.

While sorting the tile bowl of locus 6 a piece of iron was discovered ( SF #11).

A pick pass completed in locus 11 . The soil is a dark brown humus layer, the same as loci 1 and 3, with a large concentration of roots and small rocks. A very small amount of tile and pottery were found. A second pick pass was done and a small piece of slag was found ( SF # 12).

A small amount of tile, pottery, and a bone were unearthed. While sorting the tile a crucible fragment was discovered ( SF #13). Soil of locus 11 was sorted into buckets and not sieved since it is topsoil.
