The trench was cleaned and swept. The strip along the N edge of the trench, approximaely grid A1-4 produced tiles and a few fragments of horserace ( #6 see p. 8 ) frieze and lateral sima. it was taken down to a depth of 35 cm. max. 9 boxes of tiles were dumped and 1 box of sherds collected. -the trench thus produced the continuation of the wall which started under the SW corner of

Cut-out acroterion/fragment
the square building in T5. The wall was a width of ca 85 cm and goes straight all throug hthe trench for 7.75 m S where it seems to turn off Westwards into the agger. Bedrock covers the trench. Tile fragments were scattered all over the area with some crude pottery. A cluster of horserace frieze and lateral sima was found at B8-D8. The piece of seated figures frieze, found at I13, which joined 68-307 ( above p. 7 ) shows the connection with the material from the dump and also the possibility that more fragments might be find in the agger itself, since the trench stopped before the slope of the agger.

A new trench was laid out, measuring 18.30 m. N-S and 10m. E-W. It is adjacent to trenches T1AF, T5E,
. Topsoil was taken off starting from S to N. 1 box of tiles was dumped. A piece of cornice and a piece of horserace frieze were found in the topsoil.Descriptive Attribute | Value(s) |
