AM: T-47Ext.- Began 10cm pick pass along length of trench. Soil is light-brown, clayey, with little

terracotta.  More bone than pottery found in trench.

T-47: Started picking in order to level trench. Soil has gotten harder to pick, intermixed with light clay. It is still dark due to the high amount of carbon present throughout most of the trench, and there are many finds. Light clay may be roofing clay, since we should be close to floor surface. Light brown clay is mixed in with rock spill in SE corner of trench. Due to this we will declare two new loci: Locus 11 for the roofing clay/burn layer and Locus 12 for the rockspill/brown clay.

PM: T-47Ext.-Continued picking in Locus 16.  No discernable soil change.

T-47- Removed large stones in Locus 12.  The stones run deep, up to 10 cm into the ground. The soil is brown, clayey, with some terracotta mixed in.  Locus 11 has a very dark carbon layer which is clayey.  About 5-7 cm deep the soil becomes lighter, more clayey.
