Photos taken.

COntinued to define stones of Locus 33 within meters E128-130, S14-15.  Soil above and between these stones remained consistent with descriptions of Locus 32.  Tile and ceramic/bone totals will be included in PM entry.;  In this work several pieces of pottery were made finds - 2 painted fragments (Finds #1, 4), 1 bucchero base? (Find #2) and 1 fragment of incised pottery.

A cut was taken in meters E128-131, S11-12 in the area of the former unexcavated baulk, removed Friday as Locus 35.  The soil of this cut - light brown with roots and small stones (5-10cm) - was designated Locus 36.  In this work 1

cassetta was 3/4 filled with tile and plaster - approximately 25 pieces of 10-15cm and 35 chunks of plaster - and 1 latte box of ceramic and bone was recovered.  The area was levelled to approximately 45cm b.d.

A second cut was taken in these same meters.  The soil was moist yellow-brown with concentrations of carbon, and was designated Locus 37.  All eterracotta and ceramic/bone totals will be included in PM entry.

Continued to define stones of Locus 33.  Soil above and between the stones maintained the designation Locus 32.  In this work a small concentration of bronze was recovered (Find #5).  Approximately 1 latte box of ceramic/bone and 15-20 chunks of worn terracotta were recovered in this work, and an incised bucchero rim (Find #8).  Continued cut in Locus 37 in meters E128-131, S11-12.  Area was levelled to an approximate depth of 50-55cm b.d.  Soil remained consistent with descriptions of Locus 37 with concentrations of carbon occuring frequently.  In this work a lump of bronze was found in the wheel barrow (Find #6), as well as 2 latte boxes of ceramic and bone and 60-65 worn pieces

    • In sorting pottery in the afternoon this creamware piece was noted and added to the PM list of finds.  Meter location was fixed to closest meter and depth.
