Daily Log

Thursday, July 21

Excavations began this morning in Rectangle 11.  The first to be excavated was Mound A.  Polentest samples were taken from the mound which preserved the pre-excavation level of the apper at depths of 30cm and 80cm from the top surface.  Mound A was cleared to the surface of the foundation wall in Rec. 12 after which work began on mound B.

Work resumed in Rectangle 11 at 2:00 p.m. with the intention of completing removal of mound B.  A rain storm half an hour later halted excavations before the mound could be leveled.
