The ceramic uncovered in T28S was for the most part very worn impasto. Approximately one-third of the recovered pottery was discovered in the topsoil (loci 1-6) and is extreamely worn. this includes the four fragments of italo-corinthian. After the appearence opf the tile spread, the ceramic began to appear in a predictable pattern. North of the tile spread in loci eight and twelve, only a handful of ceramics appeared(including one piece of orangewear) and this from the tile sprea boarder.

From the edge to the baulk wall was virtually sterile. From the tile spread south to the south baulk wall (loci 8and 13) ceramic increasedramatically. the largest amount in locus thirteen is concerntrated in meters S90/E195-196 in the surroundings of locus14, which itself is a ceramic vessel. On the east end of T28S very few sherds were recovered in locus nine where the tile was removed and no ceramic was discovered in loci ten and eleven, which are the locations of the concentrations of the slingstones.

The conclusion is that the ceramic discovered in loci one through three is most likely erosional and the later loci, eight through fourteen, held cerami cin direct association with the tile spread.
