Opening Elevations were taken.

 

NW (14 N, 81 E) – 28.57m AE

A pick pass was made in the northern half of the trench.

 

Handpicks and trowels are being used to clean baulk walls and level out the trench.

Iron tack was found in the northwestern part of the trench during a pick pass.

In the northeastern quarter of the trench, close to the center of the trench.

A second pick pass was made in the northern half of the trench.

 

Handpicks and trowels were used to level the surface and trim the baulk walls.

 

In the northwestern corner of the trench, there is a rock feature visible, it is about 66cm X 80 cm.

Closing photographs were taken of Locus 1 / opening photographs were taken of Locus 2.

Locus 2

 

A pick pass was made in the southernmost ½ meter of the trench.

 

The soil in Locus 2 is a light grey in comparison to the previous locus. It is filled with a dry soil that is loose. This locus contains little organic material (roots).

 

There appears to be a smaller quantity of terracotta pieces in the southernmost region compared to the previous Locus.
