T-26 Summary: The entire trench was taken to 60 cm. A cut to 90 cm was begun. Tile: 7. Pottery: 4.
T-26 was taken down to approx. 60-65 cm over the entire trench with pick and shovel. Soil was checked quickly in the wheelbarrows. A large concentration of rock was encountered in meters B-C/77-78 from 45-60 cm. The soil continues to be mostly gray but in isolated areas, particularly meters A-B-C/79 there is some light orange soil with specks of charcoal.
A cut to approx. 85-90 cm was begun in meters D-E/77-79 with pick and shovel. Soil was checked more carefully in the wheelbarrows, but still gone through relatively quickly as compared to the usual ivory searching pace. This is justified by the darker but still gray-brown soil. Not much evidence of a burn layer though there are occasional bits of carbon. One box of pottery was retrieved from the 90 cm cut.
No work was done in T-23.

T-23 Summary: The 60 cm cut was extended through meter B/11 and into meter C/12. Tile: 1. Pottery: 1/4.
Work was in T-23 with pick and careful checking of the soil in wheelbarrows. The 60 cm cut was extended into B/11 and then into C/12. The tile in C/12 at approx. 45.50 cm was first lifted. Soil continues to show evidence of a burn layer.
No work was done in T-26.
