Cut 6 was continued through E-I 30-32 down to bedrock in grid 30-31 and stone packing in 31-32. Depth 90-110cm. This revealed the following layers proceeding from b ottom to top; Rocks-Burn layer-Plaster-yellow soil. The burn layer apparently rests directly on top of the rocks. The quantity of pottery was tremendous from this area, and the majority was coasrse ware, impasto and low-fired red, gray or buff wares-bucchero perhaps only 3 dozen fragments out of 2 full casetti. This cut was continued to the low flat stones found in E32, finding bedrock in grid 30 and a patterned arrangemenot of low, flat surfaced stones continuing into B32 but not into A32. This revealed the following layers: rocks-Burn layer, thin spots but cintinuous yellow soil. Pottery fragments tapered down in number as one approached UB wall, consisting of mainly coarse wares, impasto, low-fired varieties (5 cartons, 1 box tiles) Bronze slag found in B32 burn layer, animal bones excessive in E30-31.
