Cleared backfill in areas K-L-M-N/63-64, L(M)/65-66-67-68-69-70 and K-L(M)/70.
Two interesting pieces of ceramic wre found in the backfill soil. One incised bucchero lid fragment* was found as well as an orange ware fragment with numerous striations *poss. modern(. The bucchero fragment was found in meter L(M)/68 and the orangeware was found in L(M)/67.
* It is possible that his fragment fell out of the previously unexcavated baulk of the south side of meter L(M)/68. If so it comes from an approximate depth of 110-120 cm. below the datum point of 27.86 cm established for this area in 1990.
n.b. a total amount of tile fragments and ceramic fragments for all of the backfill soil will be recorded when all of the backfill has been removed.
