Photos were taken of the tile fall of locus 6 again this morning. Once the photos were taken, we began to excavate the tile fall removing all the tiles. We looked for joins as the tile were removed, but only one full width of a cover tile was found. Two unusual terracotta fragments were also recovered and tracked. Some cleaning was done in locus 9 and then a section was dropped beneath the tile fall. The soil in this section was the same as locus 6, but the bottom of the secion hit rocky grey soil with patches of yellow. This may represent a packing that the stone formation rests on. Eight fragments of pottery came from locus 9 during the cleaing. A quarter latte box of pottery came from the area of the tile fall and a quarter latte box of pottery came from the section directly beneath the tile fall in the section cut. The tile fall produced 2.5 cassette of large terracotta fragments. Final depths were then taken, and a new locus was defined within the section cut.
