Daily Log

Friday, June 9, 1978

In the morning, 0 2-5 was lowered to a depth of c. 1.0 m.  A layer of large, closely packed stones extends to a depth c. 0.80 m., at which it overlies a stratum mixed with more earth, tile and pottery.  Two fragments of imported pottery were found at this depth in O-5 just before the end of the morning.

Excavation continued in the afternoon, clearing P 2-4 and A 2-4 to the floor level of O.  The area excavated contained mainly large stones and a few fragments of tile.
